Greetings, I am U.S. Naval Gowda, officially known as Naval Kishore—a 20-year-old whose life unfolds at the vibrant intersection of academia, art, and advocacy. With a deep-rooted passion for the natural world and a profound curiosity for the human condition, I am pursuing a double major in Geography and Geoinformatics at Bangalore University, alongside an online degree in Biology from Boston University, where I specialise in Ecology and Conservation Biology and minor in Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Studies.

Born and raised in the enchanting embrace of the Western Ghats, my connection to nature is not just an academic interest—it is the essence of who I am. The verdant forests, cascading waterfalls, and vibrant biodiversity of this unique eco-region have been my greatest teacher, shaping both my worldview and my life’s mission. As an ecopoet, I channel this connection into poignant verses that celebrate the beauty of the Ghats while highlighting the urgency of their conservation. While my poetry often explores the environment, I also delve into philosophical, historical, and deeply emotional themes, using words as a medium to spark awareness, provoke thought, and inspire change.

Beyond the written word, I am an active conservationist, volunteering with local communities and urban groups to promote sustainable practices and technologies. I believe that education and awareness are powerful tools in the fight to protect our planet, and I strive to bridge the gap between science and society through meaningful dialogue and action.

My academic journey has been a tapestry of diverse experiences. Graduating from St. John’s High School and Mahindra United World College, I was fortunate to be part of multicultural environments that fostered my love for learning, intercultural understanding, and global collaboration. My academic pursuits have equipped me with a solid foundation in mathematics, computer science, and environmental sciences—skills that I hope to harness to address the complex challenges facing our planet.

Yet, my identity extends beyond academics and advocacy. I am a professional contemporary dancer, a discipline I have passionately pursued since the age of five. Dance has taught me resilience, discipline, and the importance of self-expression. It is a part of my soul, just as much as the forests I fight to protect. My efforts have earned me national recognition, including the Prakriti Excellence in Contemporary Dance Award and a Gold Medal at India’s Dance Championship (2022).

When not immersed in conservation or dance, I am captivated by stories that explore the strange and the unknown. True crime, psychological thrillers, and paranormal tales intrigue me, sparking my imagination and fuelling my creative pursuits in storytelling and poetry.

With every step I take, I aim to merge my passions—whether through research, art, or advocacy—to create a meaningful impact on both the natural world and the human spirit. I am not merely navigating life; I am carving a path that bridges disciplines, transcends boundaries, and reflects the belief that every individual has the power to make a difference.
